started as a film laboratory, working on 35mm classics from Columbia

- Reel Changes / Tie Charge $10.00 per additional master.
- VCD (Video CD) as master source for VHS copies, a $40.00 set-up fee may apply.
- Add 50¢ ea. to the above prices for PAL or SECAM dubs. For smaller quantities (under 100) of PAL & SECAM, an additional conversion fee may apply - refer to Standard conversions prices listed below.

There are three basic world television standards, NTSC, PAL & SECAM.
These standards are only a factor when you are sending or receiving
recorded material to/from another country that does not have the
"American NTSC" standard. For example: A VHS tape recorded
here by you will not play in a VCR in Great Britain. The American NTSC
TV standard is not compatible with the British PAL TV standard. You
must convert the tape to the standard of the country where it will be
played. Digital Media West can convert any format and standard to any other format and standard.
About the Standards
America, Canada, Mexico, and Japan, among others are NTSC, (National Television
Standards Committee). Sometimes referred to as: (Never Twice the Same Color).
Developed by the U.S. for use in 1954, it has 525 horizontal and 60 vertical
lines of display.
Australia, China, and most of Western Europe, among others are PAL, (Phase
Alternating
Line). Sometimes referred to as: (Pay A Lot or Perfection At Last).
Developed in the UK and Germany for use in 1967, it has 625 horizontal
and 50 vertical lines of display.
France, Russia and most of Eastern Europe, among others, are
SECAM,
(Système Électronique
pour Couleur Avec Mémoire).
Sometimes referred to as:
(Something Essentially
Contrary to
American Methods).
Developed in France for use in 1967, it also
has 625 horizontal and 50 vertical lines of display.
